SD Games in Nijmegen

As part of the Erasmus+ programme, girls and boys from our school went on a special trip to the Montessori School in Nijmegen. This was our second visit to the sustainability conference, which was attended by young people from all over the world. The young people learned how climate change is affecting the Netherlands and what strategies are in place to combat it. The city aims to be carbon neutral by 2050. We cleaned the city park and the canals of Amsterdam of plastic waste, learned about ecological urban planning and history, built frog houses and much more. The most important thing was that the young people got to know each other and made friends. Thank you very much for an unforgettable experience.

Dear coaches friends from Nijmegen we would like to thank you today for a great, communicative, excellently organized week full of sustainability initiatives. The Dutch young people and you have made this week unforgettable. At the moment we think the world is turning backwards. Democracies are disappearing, wars are happening all over the world. Yesterday we sat in a bus with people from 10 nations. We heard laughing, chatting, singing and happy faces. Living together in our unique world can be so easy. Montessori said: „Everyone talks about peace but no one educates for peace. In this world, they educate for competition, and competition is the beginning of any war. When educating to cooperate and owe each other solidarity, that day we will be educating for peace.“ Thank you for showing us this week how to live second part of this saying.
